Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs) – Up to 52 CME Credits Available

Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs) provide a unique opportunity to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in addiction medicine.  They offer a comprehensive collection of relevant, evidence-based content, can be used as a tool to test your knowledge and skills and 1 CME unit is given for each completed SAMs .  There are four (4) questions per module and immediate feedback is given upon completing the self-assessment.

SAMs are designed to:

  • Facilitate knowledge assessment and improvement
  • Promote practice excellence
  • Advance commitment to professionalism

By completing evidence-based addiction articles with immediate self-assessment, physicians and medical professionals may increase their confidence and better assure their patients that they have aspired to a high standard of education and professionalism in the field.  Continuous development of your knowledge set assures the public that a high standard of care is being advanced.

Addiction e-Practice Test (ADePT) – 5 CME Credits

ADePT is a proven knowledge self-assessment and Board test preparation tool developed by the academic panel of addiction medicine experts of American College of Academic Addiction Medicine’s ADePT Committee, Co-Chaired by Drs. Tim Brennan and Sheila Specker.

Updated in 2018, ADePT has been optimized based on psychometric analysis performed by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) and meets the high standards expected from an actual board exam.

This evidence-based, referenced, online Addiction Medicine practice test is a cognitive assessment tool aimed at identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses in Addiction Medicine knowledge.  It is a helpful exercise for physicians planning to take the Addiction Medicine certification examination, as well as physicians and others wishing to assess their knowledge in the field.  As an in-training examination it was primarily developed and is maintained to assess the knowledge base of Addiction Medicine Fellows upon entry and periodically throughout their subspecialty training.

  • Mimics Real Examination Administration
  • 300 Questions (includes 100 Bonus questions:  the actual ABPM exam has 200 questions)
  • Psychometrically Sound
  • Helps assess learning gaps in core content
